About Us

Hi, I’m Belinda Fouché, founder of The Sciencey Company.

Back in 2018, while completing my Honours in Biochemistry in Potch, I went searching for fun, affordable, science-themed gifts here in South Africa. What I found instead were almost no local options, expensive international shipping costs, and frustrating bulk-order requirements. My lab colleagues faced the same issue, which inspired me to create The Sciencey Company a year later.

Since then, we’ve grown into a full-fledged online store with a constantly expanding catalogue. We regularly attend markets, create custom corporate gifts for universities and labs, and proudly support science education through sponsorships and prizes.

For me, The Sciencey Company is about more than selling products. It is driven by a dual mission: to make science feel accessible, fun, and creative to everyone, while also creating smart, practical tools that make lab work smoother for professionals.

When I'm not running the company, I'm a wife and a mom to two girls, and I'm currently wrapping up my PhD in Biochemistry.
